I am a Wyoming native, spending most of my childhood in Casper and attending college at the University of Wyoming. I have always been active in some fashion; before CrossFit I tried all of the fitness fads. I was constantly trying to improve my fitness and my success was average. I liked to push myself, but not hard enough to see measurable results, which was disappointing. I thought I was in shape, and it is obvious now I had no clue what “in-shape” meant.
I was turned on to CrossFit by some co-workers who began working out in the basement of IDES. They finally convinced me to come in for a workout, and just my luck it was the snatch ladder of the 2012 CrossFit Open. I decided to keep coming and trying, and in a week I had thrown up, tore my hands, and skinned both of my shins… I was hooked, and I have never looked back.
By trade I am an engineer. I thrive with consistency, repeatability, and using measurable quantities to obtain and predict trends for the future. This, coupled with the tight knit network cultivated at CrossFit 7220, has allowed me to excel and love fitness.
Hobbies: Golf, building anything with my hands, mountain biking, training at CrossFit 7220, melting faces…
