Why:  Because it’s a great way to enjoy winter, it’s fun and it’s great metcon training!

How much:  Cost is $40/person to attend all 4 classes, paid directly to Judi Hulme.  The class content is a progression where each class will build on the one prior; therefore, if you cannot make at least one of the first two classes, it will be very difficult to jump in later and keep up especially if you have never skate skied before.  Payment must be made in order to participate in the class.

IMPORTANT:  If you can only attend the first two classes on January 18 and 19 but none of the classes the second weekend (February 1 and 2), or if you can only attend class on either January 18 or January 19 and none of the other classes, the cost can be pro-rated at $10/person/class.  However, if you have never skate skied before, you cannot just attend the classes on February 1st or 2ndYou must be able to attend at least one of the two classes the first weekend (January 18 and 19) to participate in the classes on February 1st and 2nd.  If your schedule does not accommodate attending class on either January 18 or 19, do not bother to sign up.

Equipment:  Each person must supply their own skate skis, skate boots and poles.  If you don’t own your own equipment, there are two options for renting skate ski equipment in Laramie.  See below:

  1. If you are a UW student or faculty/staff member, the UW Outdoor Program will rent skate ski packages for $18 for the weekend for students and $20 for the weekend for faculty/staff.  See http://www.uwyo.edu/rec/outdoor-program/rental-center.html#Faculty/Staff_Equipment for more details.
  2. Cross Country Connection in downtown Laramie is offering a special skate ski rental rate to Crossfit 7220 members attending these classes.  If you plan on attending all four classes, visit Cross Country Connection the day before the first class and tell them you are with Judi Hulme’s Crossfit 7220 skate ski class and they will get you a skate ski package and reserve it for you for all 4 classes for a total cost of $40 ($20 per 24-hour rental period), paid up front.   Therefore, if you are in Group 1, you can rent skis from Cross Country Connection for the class on Saturday January 18 and January 19 and pick up your skis at 12:00 noon on Saturday January 18 and return them by 12:00 noon on Sunday January 19 after class.

Registration:   To register for a spot in a Group, email Judi Hulme directly at dhulme9@gmail.com with the subject line, “7220 Skate Ski” and provide your preferred Group time slot.  If your schedule allows, please try to stay with either all Group 1 time slots or all Group 2 time slots.  But if necessary, I will try to accommodate people if they cannot attend the Group 1 time slots for some classes but can make the Group 2 time slots.  Again, the first 12 people to contact me will get seats in the classes.  Please register by 5:00 pm on Thursday January 16th.
